Terms of service

1. The service

ServerPulse checks websites and servers you nominate and reports what it finds. It makes requests to those addresses on a schedule you configure, and — where you install the agent — receives reports from software running on your own server.

It is a monitoring and reporting tool. It does not host your site, back it up, repair it, or stop an attack before it reaches you.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you invite do with it.
• Keep your credentials to yourself. Two-factor authentication and passkeys are available and we recommend both.
• Give us an email address that reaches a human. Alerts and service notices go there.
• Accounts are for organisations, not for sharing between them.

3. What you may monitor

Only addresses you own or are authorised to monitor. This matters more here than it might elsewhere: the service makes repeated requests to whatever you enter, probes its TLS configuration, and — if you install the agent — reads files on the server. Pointing it at someone else's infrastructure is not something we can distinguish from legitimate use at the moment you type it in, so the responsibility is yours.

You may not use the service to:

• probe, scan or stress-test infrastructure you do not control;
• generate load intended to degrade a target rather than to measure it;
• collect data about people in ways your own privacy obligations do not allow;
• circumvent the limits on your account, or resell access to it without asking us.

We may suspend an account being used this way. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why first.

4. Limits

Each company has a limit on monitored sites and team members, shown in your console. You can request an increase from the quota page; we approve or decline it and say why. Check intervals are bounded at both ends — 30 seconds at the fastest — to keep one account from consuming the probe capacity everyone shares.

5. The agent

The agent is software you choose to install on your own server. It runs with the permissions of your web server, reads what that user can read, and reports to the platform over a signed connection.

• Installing, updating and removing it is your decision and your action.
• Commands you issue from the console — a scan, an inventory collection — are carried out by that software on your server, at your instruction.
• If your site token is exposed, regenerate it from the install page. The old token stops working immediately.

6. Availability and alerts

We work to keep the service running and its checks timely, and the status page reports what we can observe about it. We do not offer an uptime guarantee here.

Alerts depend on things outside our control: your mail provider accepting our mail, your server being reachable from our network, and your configuration being correct. Treat ServerPulse as one signal among several, not as the only thing standing between you and an outage. A missed or late alert is not something we can be liable for.

7. Your data

What we collect and how long we keep it is described on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.

The monitoring data belonging to your company is yours. We use it to provide the service to you, and to keep the platform itself running safely. We do not sell it and we do not share it with anyone outside your company except where the law requires it.

8. Ending it

You can stop at any time: delete your sites, or ask us to close the account. Data is removed on the next nightly retention run after deletion.

We may close an account that is being used to break section 3, that is abusing the platform's capacity, or that has been dormant long enough that keeping the data would be the wrong thing to do. Except in the first case we will give you notice and time to export.

9. The service as it is

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that every check will succeed, or that it will detect every problem with your site — no monitoring tool can honestly promise the last one. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes and company owners are emailed about anything material. Continuing to use the service after that means the new terms apply.
